Description

The inspiration for this picture was the dog Rorek, who lived in my family home in Łagów and passed away last summer. And I want to remember him like this – happy and soft, smelling the air, drinking water from the lake in his favourite place and stretching on the carpet with those funny ears of his. He was hearing the call of his name, but he was taking his time as long as he was doing something pleasant. He was all about pleasure.

This is an original, handmade print. The print was made using the linocut technique, which involves manually cutting out a pattern on a rubber surface (linoleum) creating a matrix, covering its surface with printing ink and transferring it to paper using a press.

It’s my first print made with reduction matrix. It means I made the initial matrix and printed the first colour (ochre/brown) on all the prints and then cut out a bit from the matrix to print another colour (black) over it. So it can’t ever be used again in its’ original shape even if I wanted to.

The “Pleasure” series of prints consists of 27 pieces. One (Authors Proof) will stay with me, I will send the rest in numerical order. This is a closed series – which means that I do not plan to renew it. Each print is signed and numbered. Because everything is handmade, prints vary slightly from each other, so your ordered copy may differ from the one pictured.

Printed on textured, cream white 150g Canson paper.

I made it in February 2024. in my home studio in Jeżyce, Poznań.

This print measures 13 x 18 cm and fits into standard frames or passe-partout window opening 12 x 17 cm.

Frame is not included.
