Painting series – on the way, at dusk.
The paintings in this series remind me of a train journey, when at dusk you remember that you wanted to look out the window, or maybe take some photos. Now it’s a bit too late, too dark, so you just look as far as you can.
Or maybe it’s a lake? You approach it in the evening, the water bright with moonlight, and there’s a frame of trees around the view? Everything smells with water, leaves, ground. What do you think? The most important thing is what this painting reminds you of, where it transports you.
I guess that’s why I don’t give them titles—I don’t want to “lock you” solely in my associations.
THIS PAINTING:
I started to paint it in February 2025, then turned back to it in May. I was working on a few paintings at that time – this is one of 4 tiny canvases that helped me keep the flow while waiting for the bigger canvas to dry.
This is acrylic painting on canvas, measuring 20×20 cm.
